Photographed during a temporary return to Japan, depicts my cousin’s family and their everyday life. After moving to the United States, I began taking photographs and became increasingly interested in American culture. Over time,I began to reflect on my distance from the place where I was born and raised. In order to confront my own roots, I visited my cousin’s family, who share my family name. This work is a deeply personal attempt to reconsider my identity.
